Chauffeurdrive to Gap of DunloeHolidays in Ireland (Dave Hogan) - REPOST SEP 17 2016

The Gap of Dunloe is a mountain Gorge which was carved through the Kerry mountains by a giant glacier during the ice age. A roadway was developed through this gorge, and it has become a really popular touring attraction. A journey through the gap on the horse drawn jaunting cars, followed by a trip down through the lakes of Killarney, is an unforgettable experience, and that is what Barbara and Phil undertook today. The picture above, (taken by Phil) gives you a good idea of what this road is like.

This picture shows one of the glacial lakes which you will encounter as you travel through the Gap.I must admit that Phil did a good job with the camera today.

The journey down through the lakes of Killarney for the second part of this tour of the Gap, is special, and the views are just magnificent. Phil and Barbara do look well in their life jackets.

Traveling through the narrows between lakes, on the journey back to Killarney, where the trip ends.

Finally, back on terra firma, at Ross castle, on the shores of Lough Leane.
