Kierzek to Cliffs of Moher and Killarney

The Cliffs of Moher were to be the highlight of our day today (Wednesday), as we prepared to leave Kinvara behind . The ladies really enjoyed Kinvara and had a nice meal, and a few Jameson's in Keogh's Bar, and a restful and peaceful night in the Kinvara Guest House.I normally keep an eye on drinking sessions, but was unable to last evening, but the town seemed to be fine this morning when i went to collect them.

Our first stop was on the Corkscrew Hill, in the Burren of County Clare, which overlook' s Galway Bay, and here we have the girls, all looking well, and excited about their trip to the mighty cliffs.
From the left we have,Mary, Donna, Judy, Caroline,Caryn, Renee,Jodi, and Rita.

We stopped off in the famous matchmaking town of Lisdoonvarna, where some of the ladies spent some time looking for one of these expert partner finders, but unfortunately there were none available, but they did not despair, as i was able to tell them that they could also find them online now. Google is amazing is it not, now they can find you someone you can marry for a little while.

The day was cold and showery, as our weather had now taken a turn for the worse, but my brave gang were not to be denied. These farming women from Minnesota are no pushover and any man from Lisdoonvara who takes them on had better realise that before he takes the jump.
Here we have Judy, all wrapped up, and happy at the cliff edge.
You need to be careful at the cliffs, as you are anything up to 800 feet above sea level, and a gust of wind here can take you over the edge. It does not stop those Macho idiots who come here to show off, with their stupid selfies, but we can only wish them well on the way to the ocean below.

From the left,Caryn, Donna, and Jodi, all wrapped against the cold wind, but still smiling regardless.

Mary and Rita, having a giggle, as they try to shelter from the cold wind.
Judy and Caroline, are they laughing at me? Not allowed ladies.
All together girls. You know them all by now.

St Bridgid's well is close to the Cliffs, and this is a very popular place of prayer and petition, where many come to seek comfort from their loss of a loved one.Poor Mary, on the left, (barely), was partially missed in this photo, but the others are, from the left,Caryn,Renee, Jodi and Rita, and Caroline and Judy.
Another view of Bridgid's well with the saints statue in the glass surround.
Then we were on to Adare, accepted by many to be Ireland's most beautiful town, and here we have Jodi and Mary, with the lovely thatched cottages in the background.
The beautiful Trinitarian Abbey, in the center of Adare town, is a very special place to visit, and here we have Donna, pictured inside this Catholic Church, (Yes inside), posing for this really lovely picture.

More to follow later (Donna's birthday today)

And here it is.....Donna's big day.
What a great night was had by all, as we celebrated Donna's birthday in the Caragh restaurant in Killarney. The selection of food on our table was mouth watering, there was everything from Burgers, to lamb shanks, fish and chips to sea-food pies, and Shepherd's pie. From the left here we have, Judy, Rita, Jodi, Renee,Queen for the night Donna, Caroline, Mary, my wife Sue, Caryn and of course myself.
And then there was the birthday cake....not the biggest cake, but maybe the biggest surprise. Poor Donna, she was shocked by it all, but i think she really enjoyed it her moment, and how she deserved her that.
Later we all went to the Celtic Steps show, which features the best of Irish traditional music and dance.
I think this was a birthday that Donna will remember.
Happy birthday from all Donna.
