Friday in the Gap of Dunloe

My party were off to the magical Gap of Dunloe today, a journey through the Kerry mountains on an ancient road that was carved through the mountains by a giant glacier during the ice age. In the picture above we have from the left, Alex, Eliza, Christine and Andrew, and, of course, the horse.

A view into the distance of the Gap road.
The journey through the narrows into the open lakes.
On the final approach to Ross castle after this special journey.

This journey is a two part one, the horse drawn part, and  the boat journey down through the lakes of Killarney and back to Killarney town at Ross Castle. The picture above shows the group, with their boatman, after reaching Ross Castle at the end of the boat ride.
From the left, Andrew, Alex, Christine, the boatman, and Eliza, with Ross castle in the background.
This day finished off with a great night's Irish dancing, and traditional music, at the Celtic steps show at the racecourse venue in Killarney. This show runs right through the Summer months and is a must to see if in Killarney.

Another great day in the west of Ireland with Dovechauffeurdrive.
